Overcoming Insecurities and Self Doubt

Wednesday, August 3, 2016
Here lately I've found myself feeling inadequate, misunderstood, and falling back into the insecurities that I worked so hard to overcome. Haven't we all been there? Sometimes all it takes is a few hurtful words or maybe even the negative opinions of others to send you into a downward spiral of insecurity and self doubt.

I can't say this is something I have learned how to handle perfectly. But if there is anything I have learned it would be this: I cannot overcome insecurities alone, and I cannot live in fear of others opinions of me.
After many failed attempts of trying so hard to live a perfect life and handle everything on my own, I've learned that the healer of my brokenness is found in Christ alone.
He's the only one that knows our hearts as crooked and messed up as they may be, but he loves us anyway.
He's the only one that knows every doubt and insecurity we face, but gives us strength to overcome.
He's the only one who never turns us away, never makes us feel inadequate, understands us, loves us unconditionally, gives us hope for a future and genuine joy for our present.

So if this is you, feeling insecure and inadequate and not knowing what to do, turn to the healer of all things broken. He will give you strength to run the race that has been set before you with confidence.
So lace up.
Take a breath.
And keep going.

"But they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

  1. Could not agree more with this. There's nothing better than putting your trust in God.
