Small Steps Of Obedience

About a year ago, God took me through a very confusing season of life. I was presented with a lot of opportunities that sounded amazing in the moment, but after praying and seeking the Lord about it, I quickly realized that it wasn't in his plan. At times it made me feel extremely lost and confused, wondering how God could ever make good come out of the situation. There were times when I even wondered if he wanted the best for me. It seemed like everyone else was living their best life while I was waiting on the Lord's direction. Have you ever been there? But even through my heart ache and confusion, I chose to obey Him.
As I look back now, I realize that God was using that experience to prepare me for the life I am now living. If I would have chosen to listen to and obey myself instead of God, my life would now look completely different. I can now see that every small step of obedience that I chose to make was leading me closer to him and the plan that he had for my life.
One thing we have to remember is this - If God instructs us to do something, or not to do something, we must obey. Obedience in your life may be sending someone a note of encouragement, choosing to leave a toxic relationship, volunteering at church, dealing with an addiction, spending more time in the word, reaching out to an old friend, or leading someone to Christ.
No matter how big or small it may be - we must remember that those steps of obedience don't go unnoticed by God. He allows the smallest steps to lead us to the greatest reward in heaven. He honors us by giving us a life full of love, joy, hope, peace, progress, success, blessing. abundance, and prosperity.

"But Samuel replied: 'Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."
1 Samuel 15:22

  1. This was such a heartfelt post. I agree with sometimes wondering why things in life are happening the way they are, but trusting in God's plan is what we are meant to do. Good for you for following His plan and staying strong xx

Sending light & love your way,

    My Lovelier Days
