Lady In Red | Affordable Formal Dress Review

Thursday, August 30, 2018
Getting all dressed up is one of my favorite things, and I'm a sucker for a good deal! When AW Bridal approached me about a collaboration, I was beyond excited. I love finding businesses that offer high quality at a low price.
AW Bridal has a wide selection of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding decor and more! The bridesmaid dresses would have to be my favorite, because they could be worn for any formal event. I will personally probably wear mine for formal night on a cruise!
They have every style and color you can think of. The prices range is from about $90-$120.
The quality of the dress is great! I would recommend sizing up one size if you're bigger around the bust area. Other than that, I was impressed.
I am wearing the Anita Halter Dress in size 6. You can check it out by clicking here!

How I Maintain Healthy Blonde Hair

Monday, August 27, 2018

I have been blonde since I was a freshman in high school with a $7.00 box of "bleach your hair at home kit" from Walmart. Since then I have obviously learned how to take better care of my hair and leave it to the pros, but I still struggle from damage that I try to keep under control.
The old saying "beauty is pain" really is true! The things I put my hair through just to have a bright blonde still blows my mind. But with the help of these products, I keep it pretty healthy and looking shiny and under control!

I highly recommend a purple shampoo for every blonde (even  those that only have blonde highlights). The shampoo works to tone out the brassy and orangey tones in your hair. Using a purple shampoo also makes your color last longer which means fewer trips to the salon!
I like to change my shampoos often, but my favorite right now is the Blonde Sexy Hair.

After I shampoo I like to follow up with a really hydrating conditioner. This one from Joico is great because it's full of moisture and really recovers my dry hair.

After my shower I always like to use a leave-in-conditioner. This one from Pravana is actually made for blondes and not only works as a leave in conditioner, but as a toner as well! I LOVE this stuff!

You can't forget about heat protectant! Using a heat protectant before thermally styling your hair is a must if you want to keep your hair healthy. My favorite at the moment is this thermal spray from CHI. But if you're looking for a more affordable option, Tresemme has a really good one as well!

To keep my hair looking shiny and brass free, I tone it every 4-6  weeks. I am a Cosmetologist so I do this myself. Most people get this done at the salon but it's super simple. Would anyone be interested in a blog post on how I tone at home?

Thanks for reading! If you're a blonde like me, what's your favorite products you use to maintain your blonde?

Striped OOTD + Thrifting Tips

Friday, August 24, 2018

You can't go wrong with a classic black & white striped dress! I recently found this one at a local Bargain Hunt and I fell in love. Maybe because it was so cute but even more so because I got it for such a good price. Does anyone else like to shop for discounted clothes? Thrifting and shopping at discount stores are one of my favorite past times ever since I was a young girl.

Here's my tips on finding your best deal at a thrift/discounted bargain store:

1. Imagine thrifiting as a treasure hunt. The best gems aren't usually easily found but so worth it in the end!
2. Take your time. Look through every piece and imagine how you could style it. Sometimes pieces can look strange or outdated but if it's paired with the right thing, it could be super cute.
3. Don't be afraid to try new things! In my opinion, thrifting gives a good chance to try new things and new styles because there is such a low risk. The clothes are insanely affordable so if something doesn't work, it's not that big of a deal.

I have found some of my favorite staple pieces at thrift stores and discounted stores and they didn't break the bank. I highly recommend trying it for yourself and I would love to see what treasures you find!

Much love!

My Favorite DrugStore Makeup Products

Tuesday, August 21, 2018

If you have been reading my blog for a while now, you would know that affordability is something super important to me! Being a full time college student, purchasing a $60 setting powder isn't in the budget for me. I have been wearing makeup since I was about 14 years old and I have always used drugstore products. There are times when I will splurge on an item or two but for the most part, I keep it to shopping at Walgreens and Ulta!
Here's a list of my go-to products. These are repeats for me that I keep going back to and would highly recommend to anyone on a budget that wants makeup that lasts and looks great!

What's your favorite drugstore product?

Much love!

My Self Tan Routine

Friday, August 17, 2018

Today I wanted to share my self tan routine with ya'll. I've gotten questions about my favorite products so I wanted to write it all out, link everything, and share some of my tips and tricks!
Self tanning has been my go-to especially this year. I have learned a lot about my skin and I want to take care of it by protecting it from the harmful rays of the sun! I'm trying to prevent wrinkles and sun spots at a young age, but I still want that sun kissed glow.
My all time favorite and the one I'm gonna be talking about today is the St. Moriz tanning mousse in the color dark!
Some of my other favorites are the  LA tan mousse, and the Younique tanning lotion. If I'm wanting something a little more expensive, I love the Loving Tan mousse in the color ultra dark.

I usually self tan once a week! I stay dark for about 4-5 days and then it starts to fade.

  1. I start by exfoliating my skin, and shaving my legs. This ensures an even application and gets rid of all of that old tan!
  2. I apply lotion to my hands and feet. I do this so the tanning mousse will go on lighter and more evenly. Without it, my hands always look super splotchy and unflattering.
  3. Apply your self tanner with a mitt. I HIGHLY recommend using a mitt so you wont stain your hands! It also makes the tanning mousse go on so much smoother and more even. You can get a mitt from ulta for about $4-5!
Let it dry for a few minutes before putting your clothes back on. Once it's dry, put on baggy clothing that you wouldn't mind staining! I normally don't have issues with staining but just in case.

That's my self tanning routine! I hope this was helpful. Remember that the key to a great self tan is an even application! I have looked back at old pictures when I had no idea what I was doing, and have serious embarrassment and regret! haha But using a mitt and exfoliating beforehand have been my life savers when it comes to fake tan.
I hope you enjoyed this post! What's your favorite tanning product? I would love to know.
