Fall OOTD : Denim & Belle Sleeves

Friday, September 28, 2018

The idea of this outfit has been on my mind since I started looking at Fall clothes on Pinterest! I love the look of a denim skirt with knee high boots. I wanted to purchase boots like these but honestly they just weren't in my budget, but I got lucky and came across this pair in Bargain Hunt for only $10! I was so shocked and happy that I found them. I paired them with this denim skirt and belle sleeve sweater from TJ Maxx.

Fall OOTD: Army green sweater

Thursday, September 27, 2018

Hey ya'll! How is the Fall weather where you live? It's finally starting to cool off a little in Georgia. It's supposed to be in the low 80's this weekend which is super exciting! (that's "cool" for us)
Even though it's still a little too hot to be wearing sweaters in the middle of the day, I have been loving this one. I picked this one up at Bargain Hunt on sale a few weeks ago. It was only $3.00 and it has been one of my favorite sweaters I have owned. It's super flattering tucked in the front of my jeans, which is how I like to wear the majority of my tops.
The tie detail on the sleeve is so unique and gives it a special touch. I paired it with these jeans and wedges, both from Target!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Buying my whole Fall wardrobe under $250 (how I did it)

Monday, September 24, 2018

Hey ya'll! With Fall starting and all the new Fall clothes surrounding me every where I go, it's hard not to splurge and buy all the new & cute things. Just last weekend I was in the mall but I quickly got discouraged. Paying $100 for just one outfit was out of my price range! And honestly, kind of ridiculous. It doesn't have to cost "an arm and a leg" to have cute, trendy, name brand outfits.
So today I wanted to share my tips and tricks on how I built my Fall wardrobe from scratch with less than $250!

1. MAKE A LIST

Before I even start shopping, I like to make a list of practical items that I need and want. I like to pick out basics such as: high waisted jeans, overalls, denim skirt, and leggings. Then I go through and make a list of tops that I can mix and match with all of my basics. One thing I have learned through out the years is that MIXING AND MATCHING IS KEY to having a good wardrobe with lots of options.
Then of course I like to throw in a few dresses onto my list because dresses are my absolute fave!
Then I list 1-2 pairs of shoes, and accessories that I have had my eye on.

2. TRY OUT LOCAL THRIFT SHOPS/ DISCOUNT SHOPS

This option might not be everyone's "cup of tea". If not, that's totally ok! But I personally have found some of my very favorite items at the thrift store. I recently found out that I have a local Goodwill Outlet, and I go there pretty often to see what they have. They sell their clothing for $.99 a pound and I have found some amazing, name brand items for practically free! This is one of my favorite ways to find things on my list, and I recommend trying it out to everyone. Just don't be afraid to get dirty looking through those Goodwill bins!
Another place I like to shop is Bargain Hunt. Everything there is brand new and super discounted! I went in one day and got very lucky with Fall and Winter clothes. They were running a sale where all of the "yellow tag" merchandise was $3.00 and I got almost all of my sweaters from there! I even found the most adorable pair of cheetah print flats and knee high boots at an insanely low price. A lot of what they have comes from Target so it was like shopping at a Target discount shop. I highly recommend checking it out if you have one near you!
This sweater and these boots are two of my bargain hunt finds.

3.POSHMARK

I don't shop on Poshmark super often, but I like to look on there if I have something specific in mind. I was scrolling through the Patagonia brand on there and I came across this blue sweatshirt for only $22! I immediately bought it and it was one of the best deals I have found. I was planning on buying a brand new one, but shopping on Poshmark saved me around $100.

3. NORDSTROM RACK, TJ MAXX, & MARSHALLS

The next places I head to are discounted shops such as nordstrom rack, tj maxx, and marshalls. All of these stores sell name brand clothing for discounted prices. They also sell off brand "boutique" style clothing that I personally am obsessed with. I like to find a lot of my basics at these shops and I always leave with a great deal!

4. WALMART

I know what you're thinking. Walmart? For clothes? When a lot of people think of Wal-mart clothes, they think of tacky t-shirts, their granny, and their poor childhood. Just me?  Oh Ok.
What I'm trying to say is that I've been there, and I have thought what you're thinking! But hear me out.
Walmart has recently got a fairly new brand called "Time & True" that is surprisingly very cute, good quality, and affordable. I actually have a hard time resisting the clothes section every time I walk by. Shocking, right?
I found cute tops for around $13 a piece, and their jewelry ranges from $3-10.
They honestly have my favorite leggings and they're only $12, and their headbands fit me perfectly and they were only $3.
Of course walmart still has tacky t-shirts and granny clothes, but finding the right pieces make great additions to any wardrobe.
This sweatshirt, along with these leggings and shoes are from there!

5. ONLINE BOUTIQUES

The last place I looked for clothes to complete my wardrobe was online boutiques. I don't normally lean toward online boutiques for basics because I feel like I can get cheaper basics at other places. I like shopping at online boutiques for dresses and unique, trendy pieces.

I hope you found this blog post helpful! I will be posting more videos/ pictures on how to style these items and more through out the next 2 months.
What's your favorite way to save money when buying clothes? I would love to know!

How I Stay Inspired & Productive

Thursday, September 6, 2018
Let's be real, following the same daily routine everyday can get boring and unmotivating, which can cause you to feel uninspired and lacking productivity.  I have personally been there many times, and I'm honestly just now coming out of a rut that I was in for months. It's easy to get there but hard to get out, but today I'm sharing with you 5 tips that always keep me feeling inspired and productive!

1.  GET ACTIVE!
One of my biggest and most important tips is to get outside and get active. A body in motion stays in motion, while a body at rest stays at rest. If you want to have more energy and motivation, start moving! Join a gym, go on a hike, take a walk, or ride a bike. The opportunities are endless and i promise you won't regret it.

2. READ A BOOK
Reading has always been a way for me to escape my own thoughts and see someone else's point of view about things. If it wasn't for books, I wouldn't be who I am today. I have learned so much through reading and when I find myself getting out of the habit of picking up a book, I can definitely tell a difference in my mood and mindset. I challenge you to pick up a book and commit yourself to finishing it within a week. I guarantee that you will pick up another one and start your journey of becoming a better you!
Books I'm loving:

3. LISTEN TO PODCASTS/ ONLINE SERMONS
Being a full time college student along with trying to juggle this blog, relationships, and everyday life, my schedule can be overwhelmingly busy at times. I like to use my time driving to listen and sermons and podcasts, and I can honestly say that it's one of my favorite parts of my day. To sit and be fed God's word as I drive and watch the sun rise, prepares me for my day and always leaves me feeling inspired.
Some of my favorite people to listen to:

4.CHANGE THINGS UP
I am personally a very visual person so changing up my surroundings to feel inspired is a must. Just something as simple as rearranging your furniture, to adding a piece of wall art makes more of a difference than you think. Also things like buying a new outfit, dying your hair, or deep cleaning your house to feel fresher and more energized is life changing. Don't be afraid to change things up a little!

5. CREATE GOALS
Short term and long term goals are important to keep you inspired and headed in the right direction. Without goals, you are aimlessly going through life which can definitely cause you to feel depressed and unmotivated to do anything. I like to keep a journal with short term and long term goals, and I work toward them little by little every single day. It keeps me inspired to keep going, and having my "end goal" in mind helps me to work harder even on days when I want to give up.

7 Things + Cute Overalls

Tuesday, September 4, 2018

Today I wanted to share a "7 Things" post where I share 7 random things that have been on my mind lately! Whether that's fashion related, or just about life. I love reading posts like these so I thought I  would give it a shot.

1. I have recently really been inspired by boho style! A new Alter'd State just opened up in my local mall and I. WANT. EVERYTHING.  I can't wait to buy some new Fall pieces!

2. Me and Matt are about to launch our own "adventure" Instagram page where we share things to do in our area! We post about places we love, hikes, reviews, and more. We wanted to make something helpful to give people ideas of what to do in our small town area. I have always wanted to create a page like that and it's so fun getting to do that with him.

3. I have been binge watching Shane Dawson's youtube videos! I'm not much of a TV person so Youtube is where it's at for me. Shane's documentaries on other Youtubers got me so intrigued!!! He makes the best videos and I can't wait to see how far he goes in his career.

4. I'm working on opening my own business! I can't say what it is because it's still in the works but you will be finding out soon. ;)

5. We have been trying not to eat out so much lately and have been cooking almost every meal! (which is a big deal to us). We got so addicted to fast food and it really started to take a toll on our bodies. I have really been loving cooking at home and feeding my body real, whole foods. Being down a few pounds is always a plus too. :)

6. Even though I miss my long locks at times, I love my short haircut. It's so fun to style and doesn't require as much maintenance! And if I ever want to wear my hair long, I just clip in my extensions and call it a day.

7. I just finished Cosmetology school! I'm glad it's over but at the same time, it's bittersweet. If you know me well, you would know that I love change but I struggle with it. I am a creature of habit so it's been hard to transition into a new routine.
I take my state boards soon in Atlanta soon and then I can say I'm officially a licensed Cosmetologist!

On the other hand, how cute are these overalls? I recently found them on sale at Belk! You can shop them by clicking here!
