Buddy Love Try-On Haul

Wednesday, October 31, 2018

Today I wanted to share a little try on haul of some goodies I received from Buddy Love! I absolutely love their boutique and everything I got from there.

First off is this super cute floral dress! I'm a sucker for floral and the tie detail in the front is adorable. It's comfortable and flattering, definitely a new favorite of mine.

Second is this grey dress with star details. I LOVE this dress. I have been into the star trend lately and I think this dress will be really cute in the winter paired with tights and a bold lip. I unfortunately couldn't find this dress on the website, so I linked the same dress in a different (and still super cute) pattern here!

Lastly is this workout set with white lightning bolt detail. I have been going to the gym a lot more lately so I was so excited about these. I love the high waisted fit of the leggings and the top seems to be very supportive which I appreciate!
You can purchase the leggings here and the top here .
If you're wanting to buy just one from the set, I recommend the leggings more than the top!

Our Costume Party!

Monday, October 29, 2018

Who loves everything spooky and scary about Halloween? Honestly, not me! Lol! I have always been a scaredy cat when it comes to stuff like that, but I do love to make Halloween fun. I like to celebrate by dressing up silly, setting up cute decorations, and eating a ton of good food.
We have made it a yearly tradition in my family to have a Halloween party and this year's was the best yet! We set everything up in my brother's new place and it was so fun.
Me and Matt both had last minute costume ideas and ended up going as a scarecrow and a monk. His costume still makes me laugh.

DECOR:

For the decor, we got most of our stuff from the dollar tree. We went as soon as they set everything out in September so we could get the good stuff! I was pleasantly surprised with how everything turned out, considering how cheap it was to set up.

FOOD:

The food is always my favorite part! We went with finger food and the ChickFilA nuggets were the best part, obviously. ;)

I hope you enjoyed this post and got some inspiration for your next Halloween party!

Burnt Orange Jacket OOTD

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

I'm a sucker for a cute utility jacket and this one from Main Street Exchange is adorable. It's lightweight which I love because it still gets pretty warm during the day in Georgia. I would recommend sizing down on this one though! It runs just a little big but it still looks flattering oversized.
You can shop my jacket here!

I have been on the lookout for a new pair of glasses lately. My vision is terrible and my eyes are too sensitive for contact lenses, so I have been wearing the ones pictured but I'm not in love with them. Any recommendations?
I hope everyone has an amazing week!

Cozy Sweater + Tuesday Thoughts

Tuesday, October 23, 2018

Something I have been learning lately is that everything we are seeking to find in the world - isn't really all it's made out to be. I spend so much of my time seeking articles, podcasts, books, and videos on different topics about life because I think those things will make me smarter and help me figure out life. But in the end, I'm more lonely and confused than ever.
I think we just overcomplicate things. We feed our minds with so much information that doesn't need to be there.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love podcasts, books, and videos. But, I think a lot of the people (not all) making them just have selfish ambitions. Selfish ambitions to be heard, seen, valued. So they can go viral, make money, ect. And we are buying into it and following their ways - myself included.
There are days when I ask myself, "why do I even make blog content?" And most days I will quickly reply with "It's what I love to do." and "I want to help people." But when I really dig deep down, part of me has that selfish ambition that I feel the world is teaching us to strive for.

So what's the solution? That's something I'm still trying to figure out. I never claimed to have any of the answers. But here's something I'm starting to realize:

I don't want to fall into the trap of selfish ambition. In ministry, my job, my blog, my relationships, or my appearance.
I don't want to talk about God or be a Christian because people are watching, but to worship Him.
I don't want to blog to show people how "great" my life is and to make money, but to genuinely help people.
I don't always want to always be "right".
I don't want to workout to show off my body, but to be healthy.
I want to have the right ambitions behind the things I do. Godly ambitions.

I'm growing tired of the self seeking and materialistic world that we are living in.
I want to see a change, and it starts with me.

All of that aside, I wanted to share a super cozy sweater I am obsessed with at the moment. This one was kindly sent to me by Meagan's Unique Boutique and I love it. It's so warm and this material is so trendy at the moment.
Meagan's boutique honestly has some of the cutest sweaters and basics and I highly recommend checking our her website!

90's Vibes + Floral Overall Dress

Saturday, October 20, 2018

It's the middle of October and the leaves are finally starting to change in North Georgia. I was kindly sent this dress by My Sister's closet and I love it! It gives 90's vibes and it's such a flattering fit with the tie around the waist. I paired it with a long sleeve basic tee from TJ Maxx and some wedges I got from Target last year.
You can shop my dress here for $38!

My Pamper Routine

Monday, October 15, 2018

Something I've been learning lately is the importance of self care. One of my favorite quotes is "You gotta nourish to flourish."
I believe that to be true in every aspect! Not only on the outside but the inside as well! It's important to always take care of yourself in every way, so you can be the best version of yourself.

I like to take one day out of the week to really pamper myself and get some "recharge time". I thought today I would share my pamper routine with ya'll and let you know what products I like to use!

FIRST THINGS FIRST:

The first thing I like to do to wind down from the day is a relaxing bath. I always like to use a bath bomb if I have one! If not, I just use some bubbles and drop a little bit of lavender essential oil in there to help me relax. These homemade soaps from Mountain Soap Co. have been a favorite of mine lately. I got the scents cotton candy and watermelon!

SKINCARE:

I have struggled with acne for years now with an endless pursuit to make it disappear. It hasn't quite happened for me yet but it doesn't stop me from trying! My skin requires a little bit of extra care but this routine always keeps me feeling fresh.

1. Remove makeup with hot wet wash cloth
2. Cleanse face with gentle cleanser and vanity planet spin brush
3. Exfoliate
4. Tone
5. Mask
6. Dermaplane (dermaplaning removes peach fuzz and dead skin cells from your face)
7. Moisturize

NAILS:

I personally love to do my own nails! I have only been to the nail salon twice in my life and for some reason, I just didn't like the experience. I would rather do my own and I find it very relaxing and therapeutic!
My current favorite polish: Sally Hansen miracle gel polish and top coat
Hand cream: Hempz Moisturizer

TEETH:

I get a lot of questions about what I use to whiten my teeth. I use Smile Brilliant and it has worked great for me! They send you your own personalized trays that fit YOUR teeth perfectly. I put the whitening gel in the trays and leave them in for about an hour. I do this about 4 times a week until all of my whitening gel is gone.
I have been loving my results so far! You can click here to try it out for yourself!

TAN:

My favorite part of pampering is tanning. Nothing makes me feel more confident than a fresh golden tan. I'm trying to cut back on outdoor tanning and tanning beds (my skin will thank me later). I use the St. Moriz dark tanning mousse. You can get it for around 13 bucks at Ulta. After I get out of the shower and my body is exfoliated and my legs are shaved, I pump the product into a tanning mitt and apply. I sleep in the tan overnight and shower it off in the morning!
I love this stuff and have been using it for years. Everyone always think it's a real tan, which I love. I love a natural, dark tan.

What do you do to treat yourself? I would love to hear about your pamper routine, along with some new products you think I would like!

Hair Ties & Denim + Sharing My Heart

Friday, October 12, 2018

Hey ya'll! Hope you all had a great week. Today I wanted to share an outfit and honestly just share my heart. Something I feel like God is teaching me lately is the art of forgiving and letting go. I say "art" because it really does feel just like that - something that is hard and takes time, but the end result is something beautiful. I have realized that holding onto the past causes so much bitterness, and that's something I no longer want in my life. I no longer want to remember my own mistakes and regrets, along with the mistakes of others that have hurt me deeply. After all, we have one life. One chance to live free from bitterness. The days we spend reflecting on the past add up to years of wasted time.
Today I challenge you to choose joy over bitterness!
"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead."
-Philippians 3:13

All of that aside, I wanted to share a super cute outfit.
This outfit was actually inspired by an Instagram story that Kristin Johns posted not long ago. One of her friends had on an outfit very similar and I thought it was just adorable! (I can't remember her name, ugh). I have always loved the look of hair ties but never tried them out much. I can honestly say I love them now.

Fall Boho Style

Monday, October 8, 2018

Hey everyone! I'm just over here living my Fall dream with this amazing weather in Georgia. This is definitely my favorite time of the year for many reasons! The colors, weather, coziness, and the memories made. Some of my very best memories have been made in the Fall so this time of year always brings a comforting and happy feeling of nostalgia.
Today I wanted yo share with ya'll an outfit favorite of mine this season.
I got this dress online on Shop Dress Up last year, but this was the first time pulling it out of my closet. I cant believe I never wore it before because I LOVE it! Does anyone else do that? Keep an item in your closet for months and then love it when you actually wear it?
I can't find a direct link because it's old, but I will link some similar items below!
